Target stubborn acne with precision
When Are Intralesional Injections Recommended?
Two quite different problems answer to the same injection. The first is the deep, painful nodule that will not come to a head and lingers for weeks. The second is the raised scar left where a spot healed with too much tissue rather than too little. Both are inflammation held in one place.
A very small dose of prescribed anti-inflammatory medication is placed directly into the lesion, where it settles the inflammation at source. A nodule usually softens within a few days. A raised scar flattens gradually across spaced sessions. It treats the lesion in front of it and nothing else, so acne that keeps producing them still needs treating in its own right.
Suitable for adults in New Town, Kolkata with painful acne nodules or cysts, or raised, thickened or keloid acne scarring.
Seconds to Give. Days to Work. The injection itself is brief and the relief is not instant, though it is quick.
Too Much Steroid Leaves a Dent Where the Lump Was
This treatment is judged entirely by dose. Given too strong or too often, it thins the skin and leaves a small depression, or a paler patch where the injection went — both more noticeable on Indian skin, and both harder to correct than the lump that was treated. At LUMORA Clinic, the dilution and the dose are decided by a dermatologist, the response is reviewed before repeating, and injections are declined where they are not warranted.

The Smallest Effective Dose

Relief Within Days

The Cause Is Addressed Too
Fast on Lumps. Slow on Scars.
An inflamed nodule typically settles within two to three days, occasionally taking a week. Raised and keloid scars behave differently — they soften and flatten gradually across sessions spaced weeks apart, and some require several. Keloid scarring can recur and may not flatten completely. Your dermatologist will tell you which of these you are dealing with and what is realistic before anything is injected.
Before and After, Unretouched.
The photographs shown here are of LUMORA patients, shared with their consent and presented without retouching. They illustrate the kind of change this treatment can achieve, rather than promising a particular outcome.
Individual results may vary depending on individual factors, condition severity, lifestyle, and treatment adherence.

Frequently Asked Questions
A very small, diluted dose of prescribed anti-inflammatory medication, placed directly into the lesion so that it acts where the inflammation is rather than throughout the body.
A painful nodule usually begins to settle within a day or two and flattens over several days. Raised scars respond far more slowly, over spaced sessions rather than days.
Briefly. The injection takes seconds and most patients describe a sharp sting, often less uncomfortable than the lesion itself.
Given excessively, the medication can thin the skin and leave a small depression, or lighten the skin at the injection site. Both are more visible on Indian skin. This is why the dose is kept small and the response reviewed before any repeat.
No. It settles the lesion injected, nothing more. If you are getting cysts or nodules repeatedly, the acne itself needs treating, and that will be discussed with you at your assessment.
